Why Should I Follow This Course? Studying Health and Social Care to Level 3 will help you to gain a good knowledge and understanding of the work of health, social care and early year’s organisations and enable you to make an effective contribution to the work of care organisations. You will also acquire many transferable skills that will be of use in further study or training such as: research and referencing, problem-solving, analysis and evaluation, critical thinking, communication, interpersonal skills and
presentation skills.
What Teaching and Learning Methods Will Be Used? This is a vocational course and therefore has a work-related context. There will also be lots of opportunities to broaden your knowledge and help you complete the course through visits to health and care organisations. You will also have the chance to participate in health and social care activity days. The following modules will be studied.
Human lifespan and development. Working in Health and Social Care.
Meeting Individual Care and Support Needs.
Optional unit to be decided covering either psychological, sociological or physiological perspectives.
Where Will This Qualification Take Me? This qualification is suitable for all careers in health, social care or early years. It offers a route into careers including; Nursing, Teaching, Physiotherapy, Dental Nurse, Social Work, Nursery Nurse, Residential Care Assistant, Practice Manager or Occupational Therapy amongst others. There is also the possibility of moving onto sport studies.
Learners who successfully complete the course have several routes of progression; employment, Degree level courses, apprenticeships.
Entry Requirements: General entry requirements and L2 pass if you have completed BTEC level 1/2 First Award in Health & Social Care. Grade 5/5 in Combined Science or Grade 5 in Biology (Separate Science)
