The
main aims of SEN at Kenilworth School and Sports College are three
fold:
We believe all pupils should have access to the full range of curriculum
choices that are available.
We believe that SEN involves everyone. This includes all school
staff, parents, pupils, governors, outside agencies and the LEA.
We believe that the aim of the SEN team at Kenilworth is to support
pupils and to enable all staff to teach their subject to all pupils.

Special
Educational Needs staff at Kenilworth support pupils and staff in
a variety of ways.
We support pupils in classes
We support teachers in classes
We support small groups of students in all years
We mentor pupils on a 1:1 basis
We work closely with parents
We have strong links with outside agencies
We offer the Social Use of Language Programme
We have a special homework club
We can request that pupils have special arrangements made for examinations.
We have our own in–house manager who deals with the emotional
and personal needs of pupils. Special programmes are put into place
to help youngsters through the ups and downs of adolescent life.
We provide a safe haven for those pupils who feel vulnerable from
time to time.
Our
Special Educational Needs Coordinator, Mr Callaghan, is always available
to chat to parents and to answer any queries that they may have.

We
have a very well appointed Learning Support Base where we work with
pupils individually and in small groups. Here we have a special
library and we produce resources for pupils and staff.Special Educational
