Science holds a unique place in the curriculum by providing students with a wide and varied body of knowledge supported by experimental and investigative work. Our aim is to inspire students with a love of science and a curiosity about phenomena and events in the world around them.

Key Stage 3

GCSE - Year 10 and 11
At GCSE, the majority of students follow the AQA Double Award specification at Foundation Level(G – C) or Higher Level (D-A*) achieving two grades at GCSE.
AQA Science: Double Award (Coordinated)
This involves the study of:
Humans as Organisms
Green Plants as Organisms
Variation, Inheritance and Evolution
Living Things in their Environment
Patterns of Behaviour
Forces and Motion
The Earth and Beyond
Energy Resources and Energy Transfer
Students may also be offered the option of taking science: Biology; Chemistry and Physics. This includes all of the above together with some additional subject knowledge and coursework.
