Entry Requirements
You must have received a minimum of a 'C' grade at GCSE in Art.
What will I learn?
You will learn how to deconstruct graphic designs and work of art to understand how other designers approached certain topics, used materials and communicated ideas and use informational gained from this in the creative development of your own artwork.
You will learn how to read and communicate in visual language.
You will learn how to use a wide range of digital media and materials (Photoshop, vector art, photography)
What is the course structure?
For your AS you will submit a total of 2 portfolios or ‘units’ at the end of the course for marking. The coursework unit & the exam unit. Course work provides 60% of your final grade and the exam unit 40%

For your A2 you will submit another 2 units (coursework unit & exam unit again). However marks from your AS (the previous year will be added to the marks gained for these two portfolios)like this...
Where will this qualification take me into further and higher education?
A Fine Art A level normally leads to a foundation in Art (PGCE) or on some occasions straight into an Art based undergraduate degree course at university or other Art HE qualification.
