Welcome to Kenilworth School Music Department
September 2007


The Music Department has a high status both in school and in the local community:

We enjoy well equipped teaching rooms and practice rooms
• A new, dedicated music computer suite for KS3 and 4 running Logic Express and Sibelius 3
• A new, dedicated music computer suite for KS5 running Sibelius 4 and Logic Pro.
• 2 recording studios at Castle Sixth Form
• Our own set of steel pans
• 19 instrumental teachers with over 270 pupils taking lessons each week
• 88 students in year 10 and 11 taking GCSE music
• GCSE music results 2006: 84% of pupils gained an A*, A or B grade
• 41 students in the 6th form taking either music or music technology
As always, we are grateful to all the music staff, instrumental staff, parents, students, the school and PTA for all their support.

We offer tuition during the school day at specially subsidised rates for the following:

Activities

There are always plenty of opportunities to be involved in the department; if you have any questions regarding any musical matters please refer to the school intranet or contact one of the music staff.

County Music Service / Music Centre

We are proud of our close links with the music service who use the facilities at Leyes Lane to offer a huge range of instrumental lessons and other musical activities during the evenings and at weekends. Please contact Sue Mock on 01926 863208 for more details.
