ICT - OCR LEVEL 2 NATIONALS

The OCR National Awards in ICT provide students with first-rate, vocational qualifications and are suitable for those wishing to enter employment or progress to further studies. The course aims to provide students with valuable skills in using general ICT applications, as well as specialist areas such as animation, video and multimedia.


Summary of Subject Content

The four units offered are:

• Unit 1: ICT skills for business
• Unit 4: Design and produce multimedia products
• Unit 20: Creating animation for the WWW using ICT
• Unit 23: Creating video


ASSESSMENT

There are no examinations in this subject. All units are internally assessed and externally moderated by OCR.

Units 1 and 20 should be completed by January 2009.
Units 4 and 23 should be completed by June 2009.

The full award is graded as Pass, Merit or Distinction and is equivalent to two GCSE’s.


PROGRESSION

This course of study will be of practical use for those wishing to progress to further study in ICT or for the world of work. It aims to equip students with the skills knowledge and understanding of general and specialist areas of ICT, which can be transferred to employment or study in both ICT related and non-ICT related fields.
