KS4 is where students really start
to mature as artists. At this level, teaching the whole class evolves
into individual tuition. At this level the student really starts
to become aware of the possibilities of the subject and the power
of their own creative expression.
GCSE Art comprises two complex and extended pieces
of coursework. The externally set exam provides the third Unit of
Work.
Unit 1 focuses on Visual Language, media, techniques and practical
responses.
Unit 2 focuses on the knowledge, understanding and ideas of the
student.
Unit 3 brings all of this together in the practical exam.
